About the artist
Trishna Nana is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Walsall, UK. Born in Walsall and raised in Livingstone, Zambia until the age of nine, her cross-cultural upbringing shapes a practice rooted in identity, perception, and empathy.Starting with faceless portraits on cardboard, Trishna’s work has evolved to include sculpture, textiles, and wood-based surfaces. Her use of wool, puzzles, and maze motifs reflect the psychological and societal challenges individuals face — particularly around skin colour and judgment.
Her recent work tackles social issues such as the UK’s cost of living crisis, weaving together personal experience and collective struggle through tactile, thought-provoking forms. Trishna’s practice invites viewers to unlearn prejudice and reconnect with the childlike instinct to see people as people.
